The Australian Beef industry takes HACCP to the next level with the unveiling of the Meat Safety Enhancement Program (MSEP). With our innovative Meat Safety Quality Assessment (MSQA) systems as the foundation, MSEP clearly validates the Australian Beef industry's innovation and commitment to safety. Proof positive is the announcement made June 2, 1999 that the US's Food Inspection Service (FSIS) has given MSEP its approval confirming that MSEP meets the FSIS's stringent requirements for the import of meat and meat products into the US, and that MSEP equals the public-health protection provided by FSIS slaughter inspections.
